An Investigation in very haunted Pampa, TX
Current mood: contemplative
Category: Dreams and the Supernatural

Quite a lot, you find a client whose claims sound just too good to be true- and most times they are. Its not that the client isn't viable, maybe its just not a "normal" ghosts shakin the house sort of night. Maybe the client did, indeed, at some point and time experience something that just couldn't be explained and from that point the poor person suffered from what I like to call "paranormal paranoia". Everything that jumps, bumps or squeaks becomes paranormal activity. But even if this might be the case, we like to investigate because often times a thorough investigation really helps the sincere client. If we can bring some logic and explanation to some of the activity- then they are happier all together. However- there is always that one or two that you just can't explain away. My home of 4 years in Iowa was one such place...but we recently found another.
So here it is.....
Mr. X started having problems in Pampa some 7 months ago. He claimed that an entity had attacked him at work and he believed that he had brought that entity home with him somehow....his home, which had been quiet for the 6 years prior to this event, somehow came alive with ghostly shadows, hitting, biting, disappearing objects, whispers and talking to name a few. Just like that. He had a haunted house.

Poor Mr. X called investigator after investigator but because of his location, price of gas and honestly, the far fetched sound of his claims had investigation groups declining, cancelling and backing out constantly. Finally, poor Mr. X found a group that would do an investigation. This group, I was told, got more than they expected. A fairly newbie group came, I think with relaxed expectations and the activity in this home literally just blew them away. They experienced whispers, saw and apparition of a little girl, had things disappear, and one of their members even- after provoking the spirits to do something, found himself slammed up against a wall and thrown to the floor. This scared the group members. The group disbanded after this investigation and many of the investigators no longer seek the paranormal I am told. Thanks to a referral by another team whose leader had some sort of mishap just before he took it on, TEXPART was asked to do this case.
After doing some research, interviewing one of the group members who witnessed the attack of his team mate and the clients carefully, we decided to do the case by investigating one overnight session and one mid day session, since it was claimed the activity occurred 24/7..
Honestly, I have never had so much trouble getting help with a case. TEXPART is a small 5 member group of which, one had just had a heart attack, another had just had her first paranormal encounter that scared her- so 2 of our 5 were out. My other extension groups were busy, sick, couldn't afford gas or just unable to make the long 6.5 hour trip. But team TEXPART was undeterred. Three would have to do. One could monitor, two would investigate and then we would switch throughout the night.
I honestly thought that-while something odd was happening in this place- this would probably be just another 89% explainable investigation. No, I couldn't explain the claims of the first group that investigated but we had dealt with homes that had some activity that had escalated because of the fear factor in the home.

OK- I apologise to Mr. X and family. Most of what my team and I saw and experienced was phenomenal! Mr. X even apologised because it was a quieter investigation day or two than normal. First off, we didn't provoke the spirits to hurt, hit or cause anyone harm. We did ask what ever was there to move things, knock or prove their existence but we never challenged the source to violence.....so nothing great or substantial happened from that perspective. But something that will stick in my mind- as well as my teams minds probably forever are a few of very interesting events.

Mr. X had his grandson stay the night with us, as he had had some experiences with these entities and wanted to help. I don't normally go for this, but since he was older, and his grandparents insisted that it would be fine to do so, we figured he had probably seen it all already anyway. At some point in the early morning, we had all taken turns sitting in what all claimed to be the "bad room". Things that happened in that room were shadows, apparitions, voices, laughter, entities coming through the closet door- the whole nine yards happened in that room. We tried posting the client and one of our investigators in the room first. Not too much happened that way. Then we tried posting the clients wife, myself and one other female TEXPART member in the room...again nothing. So we tried sending the three youngest in: two Texpart members under 22 and the clients grandson. As expected we could hear the three talking fairly loudly with the door closed. Suddenly from 4 rooms away, the client, myself and the client's wife all heard a male voice in the bedroom hallway say very clearly "GET OUT!" He did not sound happy about the hoo-ha going on in that room. The client heard it a second time, more muffled as though it had gone further done the hall to the room. At that time, the camcorder in that hall shut down on its own and the members in the room left the room because they said it got very stuffy and hot in there all of a sudden. Thankfully the words by a male "GET OUT" were successfully recorded on not one but two voice recorders!

In other experiments the team asked who was present -to please give us names- many very clear answers were gotten on the recorders.
But the most incredible, memorable occurrences happened outside the home, while in the driveway in front of the home.
This was crazy!

There was a nice covered double swing in the drive in front of the garage doors. The client had claimed that it would swing by itself and that we should see if it would happen since that particular morning was so very still. There was no air movement, no breeze, no passing cars- nothing. A perfect night for this kind of experiment! The client stepped out with the team as did his family- leaving his house empty. Interestingly enough, the swing was swingly slightly and we noted a deep indentation as though someone were actually sitting in the swing. Mr. X told the swing that it would have to do better than that to prove that it was a ghost not a breeze swinging it...he asked the swing to swing harder....it did! It swang just like someone was in it. He then told the swing to stop....astonishingly, it did that too-it just stopped like someone put their feet down! Then the indentation popped up- (now that was freaky)- just like someone stood up. So the client sat down and put both feet in the air-and put his arms to the sides. He asked it to swing him from side to side if it was still there- after a few seconds the swing shook from side to side, just like someone was standing right next to the swing and shaking it! And then it just stopped.
As we turned to go back into the home, I saw the vertical blinds in his front window next to the door part as if someone were looking out. I turned- the others had seen it to. I said that it was probably the cat- but as we watched- my words had no sooner left my mouth but the other-complete opposite side of that wide window- the blind pulled back just as though a pair of hands were holding the blinds on each side of the window open just enough to see it...and what was even freakier....the area behind that window was intensely black-so black that it blotted out the hall lamp at the door for quite a few seconds. Then, as we took a couple pics and headed for the door, both sides dropped and we could see the light of the lamp again! Whatever had been there was gone.

I have made a couple of determinations as to what may be going on at that home. By definition, the activity -or the bulk of it occurs only when Mr. X is there. After looking thoroughly at the swing- no strings, peddles or the like and again looking at the blinds, everyone in location to that event and the cat that did crawl out from under the desk later to sit in part of that window- I determined that there was nothing to make that swing do what it did, and even if the cat had jumped in the window and parted the blinds on one side- how in the world would it have reached clear to the other side and perfectly parted the blinds on the opposite side from where it sat?? It just wasn't a big enough cat for even its tail to be blamed. And a tail would not have had that effect. What about the mysterious blackout?

TEXPART is still reviewing the evidence. It is fascinating. Thus far, I downloaded the clients voice recordings and our voice recordings. Sometimes what you get on one recorder you don't get clear across a 3600 square foot home on another recorder... Not true here...all our names and answers are the same on our recorders as his, the distinct male ademently demanding someone to GET OUT is the same....

So what I do know is that we have some poltergeist activity here. Is there a demon as the client believes, I am not sure because if there is, it did not show itself. But is the voice recordings are accurate, there is a male Indian named Tom, an Indian woman named Cheloa, a child named Jessie or eve, a male named Benjamin Alexander, a male named John Borrows or Jonesboro, and an a crabby older woman who did not state her name but said just leave me alone and someone that speaks, I think, French.

Now the question is- how to help the client -what to do about the problem. I did contact a couple of individuals about this-but I haven't heard back yet.
I will post more as it comes in.

I find the paranormal activity in Dan's home to be quite amazing. As such, I am including his story in a new book currently being written by myself and another author on Haunted Homes.

I did not know the names of the various entities as determined through the TEXPART investigation, so this is very helpful. It sounds like the only solution to the hauntings is to send some (hopefully all) of these wayward spirits into the light. Spirits become "stuck" just on the other side and cannot move on for various reasons. These can include 1) a violent death that has left the spirit too confused to know where he or she needs to go; 2) a sudden death where the spirit may not realize he or she has actually passed over; 3) a great love for a particular person or place that keeps the spirit grounded; 4) fear that moving into the light will bring hell and damnation; 5) if the spirit is mentally ill or has Alzheimer's, he or she may be unable to figure out how to get to the light by themselves or may not even know it is there.
The only way to get these poor souls on their way through the light is through the work of a competent medium who knows how to do this. I am not aware of too many mediums that can, other than the Rescue Mediums (http://www.rescuemediums.com/) but there must be more gifted folks like them.

Anyway, now I am awaiting the report of another group that was supposed to go in to Dan's home the last weekend in July, I believe. It will be interesting to see what happens in their case as well.

All the Best,

At first I thought this was an article bashing "Mr. X", but it turned out to be a story of how they were proven wrong. Great story there Dan, your house is enough activity to persuade skeptics that it is haunted.
